Writing Assignment

You will have 2 writing assignments. I know, I know it's photo but photographers write about their work among other things.

#1- Blog writing: I want you to reflect on your work so far this year. Which photograph is your strongest or favorite, you have created since class started. It does not have to be from an assignment but it does need to be since Aug/Sept 2010.  Please write at least a paragraph which is 6 to 10 sentences and post the image so we know what you are writing about. Complete before Thanksgiving break. Comment on 4 students postings NOT in your class period.

#2- This assignment is part of a bigger assignment, which will be revealed later. You need to write a creative short story with a character (person), they need to have an encounter or adventure– about one page (if you want to do more pages you can) but it must have a beginning, middle and end. Due first class after the break. Please turn it in as a typed 1.5x spaced page.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to let all of you know you are doing a great job so far this year. I am very pleased overall with the photos I've seen from your "Compositional Techniques" assignment. We are still building your foundation in photography but soon you will have much more creative freedom, which means you will need to work harder.

"24 photos about 1 thing" is due on Friday. The due date is confirmed because we are done critiquing or have only a few left to review. No excuses. Rainy days can make for an amazing photograph.

First Assignment

I just wanted to say great job to everyone on their first assignment "self portrait". A self portrait is one of the most difficult things you can do as a photographer and artist.

I can't wait to see what you create for "Compositional Techniques"!
